If you love baptizing families clap your hands!
This week was full of wonderful miracles! The best one though happened on Saturday:) It was later in the day and seriously nothing had worked out. All our planes had fallen though so we decided that we would just tract for the rest of the day. Well we start knocking a couple of trailers and maybe the third door we knock on we run into this family... the Sanchez Pina family! :D It must have been the most amazing lesson I have ever had my whole mission. We mostly talked to the dad and we focused a lot on the family. They are so prepared! They also just happen to be from San Luis Potosi. We got to share with them the Restoration and everything just went so perfect! Keep them in your prayers! All I want if for them to be an eternal family. :D
We had just a couple of small cool things happen. Like on Friday night we store contacted at the mall! :D We were on the hunt for Hispanics and we would stop them as we passed by them and tell them my companion had to practice her Spanish so we would have an excuse to share the gospel;D It worked out pretty well. We found a new family to teach and met a lot of other people that weren't completely interested but are definitely maybes. Thursday night at institute we had an investigator come meaning we had an extra person to translate for. Thankfully David (yes, Archuleta) was there and we tag-teamed translating for them...:) I'm pretty sure he is supper jealous of my awesome Spanish/translating skills. On Sunday we found a really big gigantic monster looking crawling bug in our bedroom.... it was terrifying. Sunday was also "Restoration" day at church meaning Hna Gamble and i taught the youth Sunday School AND Young Women's class. I was really worried about them specially because one of the teachers literally asked us to teach her class right as we were starting Sacrament meeting. She was trying to show me the lesson in the middle of the opening prayer. It turned out okay though but now I know for sure that I do not want to be a seminary teacher. Sunday I also got to practice my tortilla making skills. Hna Daysie gave me an official certificate and told me that I was now certified to make hand made tortillas! :D Yeah! Also yesterday we finally got Sister Brown. Sis Brown used to serve in another area but a sister missionary in another Zone had to go home this week and Sis Hilbert (sis Brown's companion) was Emergency Transferred (ET) to fill that sisters place. Jolten, the area where they served, got closed down and Sis Brown got to come down here with the STLs:D Now I have four roommates, that is 5 sister missionaries in one apartment. That is a lot of cold morning showers my friends! BUT it also means parties every day!:D
So I thought I would share with y'all the things I do on a regular week. On Monday we start out with P-day. I get to hang out with my roomies and do things like go shopping and eat lunch and play spoons and go fishing. Tuesdays I do service for the Bishop's storehouse for pretty much the whole morning until lunch time. Wednesdays I usually have District meeting and Correlation meeting. On Thursdays we have Institute! :D I love going to institute, I learn so much. On Fridays we have English classes and usually weekly planning. We don't usually have set things on Saturdays but on Sundays we get to go to church and see our wonderful members! This is the busiest I have been in a long time. There is always something going on and our food calendar is always full. The members are just so fantastic and there are neighborhoods full of Hispanics! Now do y'all see why I love this place so much?!:D It's like Disney world every day but better because I get to teach people how to be happy! I'm so grateful for this opportunity to serve. I wouldn't trade it for the world!
Los quiero!
Hermana Orellana:)
